Programme Highlights

STEGMANN & Marti | Silent Speech

This programme explores the 16th-century art of diminution as an expressive extension of the human voice. At the heart of this programme is Silvestro Ganassi’s La Fontegara (Venice, 1535), a treatise in which the recorder aspires to speak—shaped by breath, imagination, and eloquence.

Featuring original works by Tromboncino, Cara, Gombert, and Willaert, this programme reimagines vocal polyphony through ornamentation, improvisation, and instrumental dialogue. With newly composed diminutions in Ganassi’s style, the music comes alive as rhetorical speech—melodic lines that breathe, persuade, and converse. Intimate and richly layered, this concert invites listeners to hear the recorder not just as an instrument, but as a true voice—speaking across centuries

Ensemble Odyssee | New programmes

"The overall refinement of their musical expression, profound knowledge in the field of historically informed performance practice, flawless intonation and sense of subtle nuances, confirm that Ensemble Odyssee is clearly among the top in its field."

Karel Veverka, Opera Plus 2017

Ensemble Odyssee is an Amsterdam-based baroque ensemble, founded by Andrea Friggi, Georg Fritz, and Eva Saladin. With a passion for historically informed performance, we use cutting-edge musicological research to rediscover the bold, vibrant sound worlds of the 17th and 18th centuries.

From chamber music to orchestral works, we perform on original instruments, breathing new life into forgotten repertoires. Our first albums brought to light little-known gems from 17th-century Naples; our latest recording explores rarely heard English solo concertos.

Our most recent CD was released in August 2025 on Challenge Records and puts J.S. Bach's Concerti central to our interest.

Every programme—live or recorded—connects modern listeners with a specific time and place, shaped by rigorous scholarship and expressive performance.

Jiménez & Stegmann CÍRCULOS

"This duo look great, sounded great, and the audience could not keep back early robust applause."

Julie McErlain, Jan 2025, Melbourne Classical

Central to this show is Karlheinz Stockhausen's Tierkreis, a compelling series of 12 short character pieces

inspired by the Zodiac. Each composition encapsulates the essence of its celestial counterpart, inviting

listeners on a captivating musical journey through the cosmos.

The programme interweaves arrangements of Bach’s intricate Inventions, Chick Corea’s playful Children’s

Songs, circular medieval songs, and the musicians’ own improvisations. Each set reflects universal themes

of connection and transformation, mirroring the cyclical nature of the zodiac itself.

These works exemplify a dynamic interplay of tradition and innovation, allowing the audience to

engage with a realm where the familiar seamlessly meets the extraordinary.
